Handfasting
Looking to zhoosh up your ceremony, there are many different components you can include that will give richness to your day.
One of these is Handfasting: "Tying the knot"
Handfasting originated in Scotland in the 16th and 17th centuries. Including a modern version of handfasting is a lovely way to add another personalised standout element to your ceremony.
Handfasting often replaces the "I do" part of the ceremony. You can use between 1 - 5 cords all with a promise to each other and together.
Chat to me of what that would look like and if that is a good fit for you both.
Ring Warming
There are so many special rituals you can add to make your ceremony unique and personalised just for the couple.
Ring Warming is a lovely way to include all or part of your guests' participation. This tradition involves passing the box of the wedding rings around for each guest to simply hold them and warm it up with a wish, prayer, love or good thoughts for the couple.
Another way is to call out those special people in your lives, grandparents or parents to step forward and acknowledge how special they are to you both and thank them for their love and support and they can think of no better people to take a moment to warm these rings with their love and make a silent wish for them, one that they will carry them on their journey together, no matter where they are, they will always have their warm wishes with them.
Listen up.
